Adidas vs Lotto Running Shoes


With over 5 weeks of research and campaigning about their social media and website I have found that Adidas has a better and strong Running shoes. Adidas leads over on Lotto in every social media field. Adidas has more likes on Facebook, more followers on Twitters and More viewers on YouTube. Adidas has a strong website whereas Lotto is not bad but since it is only limited to few countries it has less options available. This campaign was really fun and taught a lot of valuable things about Digital Marketing. It was a great way of learning how social media works as a tool and how you can use it for benefit of your Business.

Adidas vs Lotto Content Marketing



The marketing campaign idea in this blog will be in support of the brand Lotto Sport. Every brand and the brand line needs a strong marketing strategy to get its word out for its upcoming products and new launches. 

     Hence, to promote the shoe line at Lotto Sport, as part of the marketing department I have put together the idea of a Shoe Exhibition. The shoe exhibition will have every new and unique design sold at Lotto Sport displayed on shoe stands to present to consumers. Furthermore, the target market for this event will be consumers that require sport shoes that could be wore on a daily basis for comfort, consumers that need that perfect fitting footwear for regular exercise or to play sports and lastly consumers who are professional sports players and need the latest technology and features in sport shoes. Specific goal that is tended to be reached from this event are the sales conversion to be in the range of 50%-60% in stores or online orders following the event. The event will be held right at the starting of summer towards the end of spring as the exhibition is for the new launches of the summer shoe line. Also, two main social media platforms that we will use for promotions of this event will be Instagram and Twitter. These two platforms have the highest rate of young target market that is easily reachable to get the message out to them. This exhibition will attract our audience with the factor of “first look” at new launches which builds curiosity for consumers to want to see something they haven’t seen in the market yet. At the exhibition there will be Lotto Sales representatives to acquire the consumers. Lastly, to keep the consumers engaged there will be new shoe launch displayed on shoe stands.

Lotto doesn’t have much fan base. So it has very limited fan pages. The pages that are there, they too do not have high followers. This page has only 265 likes and this is not an exclusive lotto fan page. It has mixed shoe companies.


This page is either very new or it didn’t much popular. It only has 36 likes and this page does not even have single picture on it. The only recognizable thing on the page is its name.


This page has 108 followers. This page has mixed posts and it is not an exclusive lotto fan page but still it is updated regularly with various pictures included form various places and of various brands and shoes.

It is an interest’s page on Facebook. It describes the legendary superstar shoes made by Adidas. People all around the world are big fans of these shows. This page has over 100k likes which shows that how much people are attracted to these shoes.


This page is also an interest’s page on Facebook. This page is about the Adidas Stan smith shoes popularized by the tennis superstar Stan smith. This page has around 30k likes. This page is followed by the people who are either tennis fans or likes Adidas tennis shoes. There is no dedicated page for this category by Adidas.


This page is more of a store dedicated page rather than a fan page but it is categorized under the fan made pages. It is a page regarding an Adidas store in Hungary. It has a fan base of around 60k followers. This page is regularly updated. This page publishes many in store offers. This page is managed and published in the local language rather than English so all or almost all the fan base is foreign.

People from all around the world, famous or infamous, have joined this contest and their videos are available on their official YouTube channel. It has around 35k views. It is second viewed because is related to a football club’s four years plan which is very important to cub’s fans.

Adidas has 7.5 million followers on Instagram. Most of their posts here are directed from facebook and they are related to their shoes being campaigned celebrities. There is 50-50 rule being used on the page. In the description they have given address to their official website and a slogan regarding their latest contest is written. The two most popular posts are shown below:





One has around 84k likes and the other has around 80k likes.

The first one is the most popular post because it represents many sports elements of their product line. The second one is popular because it is an inspirational post of a celebrity.


Lotto on Instagram has 20.5k followers. They post same videos and images that they share on other social platforms. They follow 50-50 rule over here too since the content is identical. In the description there is a link to their official website and they have given a brief introduction to their brand.

Adidas vs Lotto on Facebook





Adidas has a Facebook page with over 2 million likes. They post about almost once in a day and they mostly post about their new releases or the new celebrities joining Adidas. Adidas posts images and videos and share links. Adidas do use 50-50 rule as they promote their brand and their Industry too by posting stuff related to sports. They have used keyword like Running in their posts. Their most successful post was when they introduced Paul Pogba, an athlete as part of Adidas. This post got over 3000 reactions and 148 shares because Adidas used a celebrity to promote itself in it.
 



Lotto has just 55000 likes approximately on Facebook. They do post once in every 2 days but because of less popularity they don’t have much good responses from the audience. They post pictures, videos and links related to their products and they mostly post about tennis as they have high rate of sponsorships in tennis world. They do use 50-50 rule but I didn’t see it a lot. Due to shortage of content I don’t really see the use of keywords a lot. Their most successful post is about their shoes which has 184 likes and 152 shares. The reason for the success of post is that they had a new launch of sneakers they were posting about and the sneakers looks really awesome.

Social Media Analysis of Lotto

Lotto


Lotto is an international brand but it is more popular in Europe and Asia. They use Facebook and Twitter as social media to promote their brands. They don`t really post often on Facebook but they post like once in two days. They post about their latest products and about their brand.  They respond to their customer when necessary. For example a customer asked about Lotto`s store location and they sent her a link for help.


Lotto`s Twitter account uses the same content they post on Facebook. They uses hashtags like #lottosport to make the brand easy to be searched. They don’t have much followers on twitter which is the reason they have negligible retweets and likes.




Lotto is not a famous brand so it doesn’t has much users but they have a nice and reliable social media accounts.

Adidas is one of the major sports brand in the world. It has wide collection of sports goods and running shoes. Adidas use Facebook as one of its promotional activity. They post a picture, video or share a link once in a day roughly. There Facebook page is reliable and has great information about their brand.  They use celebrities as their main source to promote as they include Athletes, Basketball players and other sports personality to promote Adidas for them. For example, in the picture below they used this famous volleyball player`s video to promote their Brand.

They have thousands of views and hundreds of likes on their videos and thousands of like on their picture. They have a nice response to audience. For example, this person had an issue with Adidas`s warranty so he commented on one of their picture and Adidas responded to it. There is picture below showing the response.
Adidas's twitter page is quite famous and has over 2 million followers. They post videos and pictures once in a day. They have retweets in hundreds and they not really use hashtags in their account. They are most attractive in their way of posting. Adidas's Twitter is easy to use and is a nice source for promoting products worldwide.


Overall, Adidas has a nice page which is easily accessible, reliable to use and mobile friendly too.

Adidas has better running shoes but Lotto is not a bad brand either but it is not so popular in North America. The graph clearly tells that Adidas is way more searched than Lotto. Lotto was barely searched as it stayed on almost zero all the time. Adidas made an improvement by their searches going up.

Summary:

Adidas’ strength is its easy and convenient use of website. Lotto’s strength is their website’s outlook. When you search for running shoe they both have few results but Adidas has one more results. Adidas is even easier to find on google as Lotto is not really popular. When searched for clothing, Adidas had better results. Lotto had no results for accessories.

Conclusion:


In the Running shoe industry, Adidas is clearly better than Lotto. Adidas has consistently use keywords like shoes and clothing to make it convenient for proper. Looking at both Adidas and Lotto I think the winner of SEO research is undoubtedly
